FAQs on UNESCO World Heritage Committee Registration Process
All participation requests shall be submitted online. To register, please follow the instructions at https://whc.unesco.org/en/sessions/46COM using the registration code provided in the invitation letter addressed to either the Permanent Delegation, National Commission or your organization. If you have not received the registration code, please contact your Permanent Delegation or National Commission. Contact details are available at: https://www.unesco.org/en/countries.
Once you have registered online and your accreditation has been granted, you will receive an email confirming your registration and you will be redirected to the Host Country's website to finalize logistics details of your participation. Your VISA is not dependent on Step-2 registration. The Step-2 registration is required for Badge generation to get access to the venue. The badge will be delivered physically after completion of the Step-2 registration, at the venue.

Every participant must be in possession of a personal security photo identification badge (ID), which can be obtained at the registration desk. The ID badges are nontransferable. For security purposes, the badge must be always worn in a visible way to gain entry to the session venue, to attend meetings and to participate in other activities, such as opening and closing ceremonies. Access to the meeting will be denied to any individual who is not officially accredited or who uses the ID badge in an inappropriate manner.
Registration is mandatory for all participants. An on-site registration cum badge distribution desk shall be situated at the entrance of the session venue, Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The desk will open on 19th July 12.00 Hours and shall operate till 30th July 2024.
All participants are encouraged to present themselves at the on-site badge collection desk at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, before the Opening Ceremony of the World Heritage Committee on 21st July 2024 to allow a smooth entry to the event.
A welcome package with an information dossier about the 46th session will be provided at the time of registration. Please note that, due to safety reasons and the expected number of visitors, the process of registration and receiving your badge may be time consuming. For this reason, early registration is strongly encouraged.
Accreditation is necessary for media representatives to attend 46th session of World Heritage Committee. The detailed process of accreditation is as below:
- Kindly send an email with the full name of each person and the name of the media organization seeking accreditation to info46whc.newdelhi24@gov.in,copying s.machimura@unesco.org and d.martel@unesco.org for information. All media representatives who wish to cover the session are kindly asked to register preferably before 10 June 2024 (40 days prior).
- In reply to your email, you will receive a registration code and a letter, which will be required to complete your visa application.
- All media representatives who need a visa must apply for a visa by filling an online form through the registration system on the website: https://46whcnewdelhi2024.nic.in.
Please take note of the need to declare all media equipments at the Customs upon arrival. Additionally, certain items such as drones may not be brought to India without additional permission from the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The organizers of the Host Country will be able to facilitate the permission process for these items. Therefore, please contact the Organizers at: info46whc.newdelhi24@gov.in

A special desk will be reserved for the registration of media representatives in the main registration area at the venue. The hours of registration will be the same as for all other participants. Please note that your application for accreditation must be received and approved before you register on site. Part of the registration procedure will be involved to obtain your personal accreditation/security badge at the media registration desk. Accreditation badges are to be worn visibly at all times to gain access to the venue and must be presented upon request to security personnel. Accreditation badges are not transferable. Access to the session venue will be denied to any individual who uses the badge improperly. Please be advised that security personnel may verify that equipment taken into the session venue is used for its intended purpose. Kindly allow sufficient time in your schedule to pass the security checks.
It is mandatory for the participant to upload their recent passport quality photograph. The size of the photograph should not exceed 5 MB. The photograph file must only be either .jpeg/ .jpg/. png/ .bitmap.
Yes, participants for categories including VIPs; Senior Officials, Government of India; Guests; Local Media; Volunteers and Local Staff are required to complete only Step 2. Participants seeking to register under the category of “Guests”, please write to reg46whcnewdelhi24[at]gov[dot]in for receiving the category code. Upon completing Step 1, you will receive a confirmation email from UNESCO and an email from the Host Country registration system which includes temporary credentials (username and password) for completing Step 2 registration.
Participant can update the registration form by logging in through the official website using their username and password via ‘Register/ Login’ option. Once logged in, the participant will be able to fill up the remaining/ update the existing form fields of the registration form.
After completion of Step-1 (registration on UNESCO website), the participant would receive their credentials via email. Using these credentials, the participant would register on host country website (Step-2).
As part of Step-2, user would fill a registration form and submit the same on the website. User would update his personal details which would indicate the percentage of completion of the form. Once the mandatory fields are completed, a QR code would be generated and sent to the user via email. Please note that only the QR code received on email will your access to the event.

Completing both steps is mandatory for full participation. Failure to complete both steps may result in denial of access to the session events and facilities.
